When people join chatrooms or enter discussion groups or to see a counselor, or write journal entries to talk about their problems, it isn't because they're seeking attention or trying to get somebody's sympathy. Often it's because they just want to know whether there's something or nothing wrong with them feeling the way they do about their situation.
Be careful who you judge. Such methods may be the person's only source of venting. And if you block that off, God knows what would happen to them.
